Your students will read nonfiction passages about Dr. King. The questions about his life are arranged on pictures that have been cut apart in random order.

 

To solve each mystery picture, your students need to answer the reading comprehension questions accurately.

 

The Answer Key slides are built into the activity so that students can check their work as they go along.

 

This resource also has a section with open-ended questions about Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Civil Rights movement that challenge students to think deeper about Dr. King’s legacy.

    I think this is such a neat idea for reading comprehension on MKL JR. Day. I made a mistake in doing it this year in giving the choice of this or a MLK Nearpod. It does require some prep to copy each slide presentation and email it to each student. I should have made students do at least 1 picture (if not more) before Nearpod. Now I know for next year!
