This resource was wonderful for whole group instruction when projected on the whiteboard. Staff was able to model re-reading, locating key words from the question to find the answers, and students worked to explain where and why they found information to support their inference. Inferring is very challenging for my special needs learners, but this resource was so fun and engaging that no one found the activity tedious or frustrating.

  74. 3rd Grade’s uh Charm

I had my students work on this activity in the attempt to create a fun Halloween themed day and much to my satisfaction it worked. I had my students working in teams by placing them in google meet break out rooms and presented it as a challenge. Whatever team was the first to solve and come back to the main call were the winners. Every time I popped in and out of the groups it was clear the the kids were into the activity, it was a good feeling to hear them citing text to defend their answers. Thank you for creating this activity!
