Description
Looking for a fun and engaging way to review grammar and ELA parts of speech with your students? These 8 sets of parts of speech matching games will help 3rd through 5th graders master nouns, verbs, affixes, synonyms, antonyms, contractions, and homophones. Students play the games in a go-fish style card game, which makes learning fun!
⚠️Warning: These parts of speech matching games are a lot of fun!
There are two different game styles for all 8 sets:
- Go-Fish Matching
- Partner ELA Card Game
Student instructions with pictures are included. Plus, you also get these:
- Extension activity for early finishers
- Editable templates–type your own words
These ELA games are not available in digital formats, but they are PRINT & GO! You print, prep, and watch students have a BLAST reviewing their parts of speech!

I got this resource towards the end of the school year, but I was able to use it with my reading intervention group a few times. I had students in that group who were also in my homeroom who asked if we could play the game during our regular reading time as well. I call that a win!

My students enjoyed the fun practice this resource provided. As a teacher, it gave me time to informally assess my students understanding.
