In addition to teaching ESL, I often teach test prep. Several exams don’t directly grade a writing sample, but still require one. By using materials to test paragraph proof-reading and editing, I can help my students practice the skill they will need to use independently on their exam. By practicing editing, they can go back to their own writing sample and look for the kinds of mistakes people make and correct as many of them as possible.
