My students loved meeting the challenge for the reading goal for the week! Thank you so much!
For the Love of Birds –
I love this as a different type of reading challenge for the kids!
Lisa G. –
My students most appreciated the variety of reading options provided on the bookmarks. Several of them initially struggled with some of the options they felt were impossible until we discussed ways they could adapt them. For example, instead of reading a book while sitting in a tree, they could read a book that focused on a tree or had a character who liked to sit and read in a tree.
Melissa W. –
I love giving my students a “new” way to read each night. They love it too!
Alana Souto –
Great resource. Easy to use and setup. Definitely worth it!
Teresa W. –
I have a class full of competitive boys. They don’t care what the challenge is, they just know they want one. This was perfect for getting them more engaged and willing to branch out with reading.
Amy G. –
This was excellent! My students were very engaged and excited to complete! Thank you! Highly recommend!
Presley Bryant –
Awesome. helpful for read aloud for me to remember and create useful content for lessons
Noelle C. –
My students and I definitely enjoyed using these bookmarks as an alternative to reading logs. They’re more fun and I used a few at a time which gave them the option to choose the one they wanted.
Laura C. –
Such a nice variety of activities for students to be accountable for their reading.
erica Y. –
Great alternative to reading logs! This gives students a more engaging way to make sure their reading minutes are in.
Suzanne H. –
These bookmarks are a great way to encourage reading without attaching it to minutes read. They are definitely a creative way to inspire students to read.
Deborah C. –
My students were very excited to use these reading challenges for homework this year instead of traditional reading logs. My goal was to get them excited about reading, and it looks like it’s going to work! Thank you for creating such an engaging activity to promote reading!
Lori C. –
I hope this will get my students excited to read at home. Great idea instead of the boring reading logs.
From Mom to Teacher –
Our school tried to have a year where reading wasn’t monitored and it was very difficult to get kids to actually read. These were amazing! My students really wanted to complete the “challenges” and were reading so much more thanks to these.
Marci L. –
Nice alternative to using a book log. Students enjoyed the variety of reading materials/topics.
Emily P. –
I tried using these bookmarks as an incentive for reading, rewarding extra DoJo points for each completed list of challenges. For some students it was very motivating and they enjoyed it. I will use again, but maybe start them earlier in the year.
Amelia R. –
These are great to encourage kids to read. I am thinking about adding a little treat when a certain number of challenges is complete to encourage.
Auntie Em’s Classroom –
I’m excited to use these bookmarks with my kids. What a fun way to challenge them to read! They’re easy to get put together and much better than reading logs.
The Study Hall Edu –
My students absolutely loved this! I have never seen my kids more excited about reading. I offered incentives for students who turned in their bookmarks, like the ability to go into my treasure box. We had a wonderful time. I plan to use this every year.
Nicole L. –
I have been using this as my reading homework this year and my class is really enjoying these challenges! I just wish there was a spot for parent signatures but I draw it on before I copy.
Koko –
My students enjoy these variation of reading challenges.
monica M. –
Our kids needed something to motivate them to read outside of school ( I HATE READING LOGS). This has been so fun. We have a chart where they can sign their name when they do 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 9 weeks.
Caitlyn –
These are so cute! I am excited about adding this new resource into my classroom toolkit during reading time. So far, my students have really enjoyed picking out their bookmarks and finding ways to meet their challenges.
Lindsey Long –
So fun!
Sara L. –
I loved using this as a send home for the summer. I’ll also be using it for the school year to try to motivate my non-readers to get books to try. Thank you so much!
Amanda L. –
Just printed them this week and getting started the year off with these bookmarks!
Nicole E. –

Excited for my students to use these bookmarks this year as a fun challenge, something extra to push a love for reading!
The Tiny Tornado Teacher –
My students have loved using this resource. The attention to detail is amazing, and I love how easy it was to use. The directions were clear, and my students were very engaged! Thank you!
Lesli K. –
These bookmarks are a wonderful idea. They don’t work so well for us as my son struggles to read and was immediately discouraged. If there were book marks with just one or two “challenges”, it might have gone better. Still a great resource.
Jana B. –
If the students don’t have “buy-in” then it will not work… great idea if students will use the book marks.
The Blissful Barn –
My students love these reading challenges. They’re able to use them in class or at home, when they finish a bookmark they get a small prize from me. They love reading right now!
Maureen D. –
This was a great way to enhance a traditional reading log.
Beth J. –
I have enjoyed using these to make reading fun again at home for my library students.
Gretchen B. –
My students love these bookmark challenges. They are always asking for extra read to self time, so that they can work on meeting these challenges.
Jocelyn S. –
Finally! An alternative to the dreadful reading log! Thank you very much!
Ana D. –
For the school year, I wanted to change up my use of reading logs. It was so hard to hold students accountable for logs and some students either lost it/didn’t get it signed/or were not interested in doing reading logs. Having students do these challenges INSTEAD of a log is something that I think will keep them interested. I cannot wait to use this with this next class of students.
Victor S. –
This is a great resource because it requires very little prep and gets a lot of bang for your buck! This product ties very well into other classroom management systems (I use a classroom economy, so each completed bookmark was worth some points for spending in the class store), school events (like read-a-thon days), and student progress organization (students put their bookmark certificates into their reading portfolios). I appreciated how the product came with summer bookmarks, which I gave to students at the end of the year. This is such a nice addition to any classroom library!
Jaclyn C. –
This was a wonderful addition to our Daily 5, it helped students to focus and was much better than doing a reading log. It was engaging and students loved it!!!
shannon S. –
Great resource
Rachel H. –
Super fun, super engaging… created a buzz around our library for sure! Each set has very creative ideas on different ways, places, or things to read. Thanks so much!
Kim W. –
I look forward to using this in my classroom once I return to in person learning, but I was able to adapt to my needs over distance learning. I needed a change from my reading logs and I think this is great to mix things up for the kids.
Mama Bear Noon –
I loved LOVED this resource! It helped me engage students at the end of a crazy school year and through the summer who didn’t necessarily like to read!
Mitzi L. –
Love it!
Jill Tasker –
Using this instead of my typical reading log to hopefully inspire my students to enjoy reading like I do. Thanks!
Jessica G. –
This is amazing!! My students are excited to read again. I love the different options and that a chart and awards are included, it makes teacher life a little easier! Thank you for sharing your creativity.
