We were studying people who have impacted the world and should be remembered. This was a great article about Oprah. There is one typo on the back, but I made it a challenge to see who could find the mistake. They had to tell me what word it should have been.

This resource can be used for your reading groups (comprehension), biography, and/or Black History. I shared with my students how Oprah got her start and how she used her success to help others. The article is engaging and detailed, but my students wanted to know more about her. Off to YouTube to find resources that my students could use to find out more about Oprah.

I love Oprah and teaching a rags to riches story! I used this worksheet along with you tube videos and ed puzzle to dig deeper about Oprah’s rise to fame and all the hardships she had to face to become the person she was today! I even dug back longer to show the students of how she rewarded the audience a car..
